There are 5 different types of Dog Allergies they are: food, flea, bacterial, atopy, and contact allergies. It is very possible for your dog to have one or more of these allergies.
Dog Allergies can be treated by your Veterinarian with medication. Treatment will help them to better cope will the annoying symptoms they are experiencing. If you believe your beloved family pet is experiencing any of these symptoms it is important for their quality of life to have them seen by a Veterinarian.
Once treatment is given it is important to find the cause of the allergies if your Veterinarian does not already know. If the cause is found and you are able to get rid of it, then hopefully the allergies will not return. Some allergies that your dog can get outside will be harder to dispose of then other more common food allergies.
Allergy symptoms are: Itching and Scratching, Licking and biting, Skin irritation, Inflammation of the trachea, and Nasal discharge. If your dog does start displaying 1 or more of these symptoms you should definitely talk to your Veterinarian.
