Taking Control Of Your Food Allergies

You can find ways to fight back and take control of your allergies. It's hard to see everyone else eating things you can't. But at some point you have to overcome that and move on. You have to think about what you can eat, not what you can't eat first of all. Make a list of all the foods that you can have or just look up the world's most healthiest foods. There you can see a list of everything that is good for you. Sometimes you might think you can't have anything, but when you see a list all of the foods you never thought of your choices grow. People who can eat anything they want end up eating the same things all the time anyway. Another way you can think about it is that most likely you will be eating healthier than someone without food allergies. Even though food allergies are horrible, you have to make the best of it and find ways to live with them.

The most common allergies are dairy, eggs, peanuts, and wheat. There are a lot more allergies out there, but these are the most common. Now I'm going to list substitutions for these common allergies.

Dairy (milk)- soy milk, rice milk, almond milk, goat's milk, and hemp milk.

Eggs-Ener-G Egg Replacer, corn starch, soya flour, baking powder

Peanuts or peanut butter-sunflower seeds, sunbutter, soynut butter, apple butter

Wheat-barley, corn, millet, oats, rice, rye, sorghum, tef, amaranth, quinoa and buckwheat. Note: people with gluten allergy must also avoid barley, oats and rye.

There are so many alternatives in today's world and you shouldn't stop living because of food allergies. Now there are company's that have cake mix, brownie mix, ice cream, etc for people with allergies. With companies having to put on there labels any common allergies it may contain is also making it easier to shop. Most of the time you can't eat processed foods which is a good thing! After you live with food allergies and do your research, you can really make life a lot easier for yourself. There is so much information on the internet today about food allergies, that you shouldn't have a problem.

You can either let your food allergies take over your life or you can take control and learn how to eat. If you have to bring your own food to someone's house then that's what you have to do. My daughter has a lot of food allergies more than the common, but I find ways for her to live just as happy as other child. In the beginning I thought there was nothing for her to eat. After doing research and asking questions her allergies seem little compared to what she can have. This is what she is allergic to if you are curious- milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, chicken, squash, sesame seeds, fish and black beans. That includes anything that is made with any of those ingredients. With this many allergies I still find alternatives and different ways to feed her.

Take control of your life and start living again!
